On 10.10.23 pre noon in course of working out a secret source information, a raid was conducted by the officers and men of SOG section of CID WB at the Farakka PS area under Jangipur PD. In course of such raid Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) having face value of Rs-199000/- ( One lakh ninety nine thousand) in the denomination of Rs-500/- could be recovered from two accused persons viz- 1.Saba Sultana (29y), PS:- Kaliachak, Dist:- Malda and (2) Halim Sk (19y), PS:- Baishnabnagar, Dist:- Malda who had come to the area for dealing with FICN. Accordingly, the said FICN along with other articles were seized and the persons have been arrested. On the strength of written complaint of SI Sanjib Patra of SOG, Farakka PS Case No 387/2023 dated 10/10/23 u/s 489B/489C/120B/34 IPC has been registered. Murshidabad DD has taken up the investigation of the case. The accd persons will be forwarded to the court of Ld. ACJM Jangipur tomorrow with remand prayer.
