Jhargram GRPS c/no.5 dt 8/7/05 u/s 394 IPC .
The case relates to an armed robbery of rupees ninety nine lakhs from the custody of one Ajoy Debnath ( employee of WRITER ) when he was travelling with two security guards on duty ( belonging to Bombay Intelligence Services ) by 2860 Geetanjali Exp from Howrah to Jamshedpur-Tatanagar .The said money was being sent to ATM branch of HDFC at Jamshedpur from its Kolkata office housed in Mangalam building at Hemanta Basu sarani , Kolkata-1, on 8/7/05 . 3/4 robbers who had already boarded the train in the guise of ordinary passengers , took away the big suitcase carrying such huge amount of cash on gun point and decamped with the booty by stopping the train through pulling of chain and got down at a place ‘Bhalukmacha’ in between Kalaikunda & Khemasuli where the NH-6 & railway track run side by side and quite adjacent to each other . During interrogation it was found that four persons availing the same AC-II-tier coach with destination of Tatanagar went missing after the chain-pull. Source information fixed up the actual identities of at least two of such missing passengers and thae have very serious criminal background . Subsequently , going through various call details Mukesh Singh of BIS and Devinder Singh @ Bablu of PVS could be arrested and they admitted their guilt of entering into a conspiracy with several other persons (which include the above-mentioned missing passengers) by exposing the weaknesses of the security systems of WRITER & BIS in carrying the money and thereby helped in committing the crime . The whole conspiracy was hatched at the quarter of Mukesh Singh in Kolkata at Hyde Road , Taratala and they are in P.C.
