North Bidhan Nagar PS Case No. 27 dt 04.02.05 u/s 365/368 IPC.

On 04.02.05 between 08:15 and 08:20 hrs one Miss Roma Jhawar (20) d/o
Narayan Jhawar of CB-68, Salt Lake under PS North Bidhan Nagar, District-North 24 PGS while going to her college with her nephew and her girl friend by her own car was kidnapped by some unknown criminals at the place near DA-20 Salt Lake. Afterwards some phone calls were received by the inmates of the kidnapped girl and the kidnappers demanded huge amount of money as ransom.
On the same day CID, WB assumed control of investigation of the instant case and leading to vigorous, persuation and efforts the victim girl Roma Jhawar was traced and recovered on 05.02.05 evening. Raids were conducted and the following named accused persons were arrested. All the arrested accused persons confessed their guilt and made inculpatory as well as exculpatory statement which corroborated the revision obtained from the victim girl.
During investigation altogether Rs. 19.2 Lakhs ransom money so far had been recovered and 11 accused persons have so far been arrested.
It reveals that after completing the offence when the kidnappers were sharing up their booties Arabinda Prasad claimed Rs. 10 Lakhs of his share. Over this issue serious altercation ensured in between them where one of the kidnappers namely Pappu Mahato opened one round fire aiming to Arbind Prasad resulting his death at the spot and his dead body was thrown away near about Science City area and subsequently it was detected by the Police of Tiljala PS.
